Bluefin Tuna Fishing

Falmouth has become a Bluefin Tuna hot spots in the world and it’s great to have it on our doorstep.

As from this year, 2024, Anglo has a licence to fish for Tuna.  The three methods we will be using are towing spreader bars, live baiting and dead baiting.  If you have your own popping gear and it meets my requirements then we may be able to use it under the right conditions.

The day starts with departure from our berth at Premier Marina, Falmouth and as we head out to the tuna ground we are looking for birds and gannets feeding which is often the first indication of a bait ball occurring. We can see bait balls on our sonar, and the lures are deployed with the anticipation of a strike at any moment.

Before hook up the skipper will have briefed you what to expect and to do on hook up in order to ensure safety for anglers and the fish, and we ensure that you are prepared with the fighting harness. Fight times differ depending on the size of the fish. There is no average fight time, it just depends on the fish.

The fish is brought to the side of the boat, measured, photographed and released. An average 10 minute revival time ensures the wellbeing of the fish and a healthy release.

Join us for a day tuna fishing and tick it off your bucket list without travelling to the other side of the world.  Feel the power of these solid fish.
